The Town of Leland seeks to provide a variety of special events for the entertainment and enjoyment of its citizens. In addition to the traditionally popular Founders Day, the Town has more events than ever planned for 2012. Check back often as new events are added regularly.

Leland Market
* What: Ever wonder where in Leland you can get fresh, local produce and homemade treats? Looking for a place to purchase local hand-made crafts? We have your answer with the Leland Market. This year we are offering the market to coincide with the Leland Friends of the Library monthly Book Sale. The market’s dates are as follows.

o August 11
* Where: Magnolia House Lawn (485 Village Rd. at the front of the Leland Municipal Campus)
* When: See above. Market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

June 23 – Olympic Day
* What: Olympic Day is a day for commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games. Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and well-being in addition to Olympic ideals of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship. This event will be fun for the whole family featuring different games from the Summer Olympics. Following this event will show the inspirational movie Soul Surfer.

* When: Saturday, June 23, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Movie in the Park to follow at dusk)
* Fee: FREE!
Movies in the Park
* What: This year’s family movie series promises to be a summertime hit. Come watch a film under the stars in the Leland Municipal Park, just like in the good old days of drive in movies. Bring your blanket and lawn chairs. No pets please.

* When: See above. Every other Saturday beginning April 28. Movies begin at Dusk.
* Fee: FREE! Concessions will be available for purchase.
Concerts on the Coast
* What: Back for its fourth year, this free outdoor concert series promises brings some of the Southeast’s best beach and party bands playing our own backyard! Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and dancin’ shoes. Just as a friendly reminder, alcohol is not permitted on Town property. This series is brought to you with help from Brunswick County Parks and Rec.

o July 12 – Coco Loco (Myrtle Beach Party Band)
o July 26 – The Main Event Band (2011 Series Favorite Returns)
o August 9 – Sea Cruz (Award-winning Beach Band)
