The Public Works Director is a professional in the operations of the Public Works Department who plans, organizes and directs the Public Works Department including stormwater permitting, streets, parks, mosquito control, and recycling. The Director also works with the various boards and commissions on public works issues and provides recommendations on future projects.

The mission of the Department of Public Works is to provide outstanding public services for the citizens of Leland, our visitors and our neighboring subdivisions while maintaining a superior infrastructure, guaranteeing a clean and safe environment as well as sustaining a high quality of life.
