System Pressure Advisory Rescinded2/28/2015 5:33:00 PM
Based on the laboratory analysis of water samples collected from the Town of Leland
water system from 3690 Anslow Drive to Ashwood Drive in Brunswick Forest on
2-26-2015. Water users are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water or
use bottled water for human consumption. The system has resumed normal operations.
This notice is issued and effective 2-28-2015.
Notice to Water Consumers - Boil Water Before Consumption2/26/2015 1:42:00 PM
The water consumers of the Town of Leland, in Brunswick Forest Subdivision from 3690 Anslow Drive to Ashwood Drive are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution due to the water main break caused from the freezing temperature. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.
Therefore, the Division of Water Resources advises that when water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation) or use bottled water.
Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
This office is strongly urging the water consumers to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued. This advisory issued on 2-26-15 by: Jimmy Strickland, Public Utilities Director 910-332-4651
