Our summer events kick into high gear this month as the temperature starts to rise. Movies in the Park Series
Our family movie series kicked off this past weekend with a great crowd. Our next movie will be May 12 when we show Puss in Boots. See below for more information. 

Leland Market
This year’s market kicks off May 12. This year we are including handmade crafts in the market, in addition to fresh produce and local baked goods. If you are interested in being a vendor, click here.

Concerts on the Coast
Our ever-popular Concerts on the Coast series begins next month. Mark your calendars now for a summer full of great music. See below for more details.

Movies in the Park
* What: This year’s family movie series promises to be a summertime hit. Come watch a film under the stars in the Leland Municipal Park, just like in the good old days of drive in movies. Bring your blanket and lawn chairs. No pets please.

Leland Market
* What: Ever wonder where in Leland you can get fresh, local produce and homemade treats? Looking for a place to purchase local hand-made crafts? We have your answer with the Leland Market. This year we are offering the market to coincide with the Leland Friends of the Library monthly Book Sale. The market’s dates are as follows.
o May 12
o June 9
o July 14
o August 11
* Where: Magnolia House Lawn (485 Village Rd. at the front of the Leland Municipal Campus)
* When:  See above. Market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
* Fee: FREE! Vendors call 910-332-4823 for more information.

Concerts on the Coast
* What: Back for its fourth year, this free outdoor concert series promises brings some of the Southeast’s best beach and party bands playing our own backyard! Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and dancin’ shoes. Just as a friendly reminder, alcohol is not permitted on Town property. This series is brought to you with help from Brunswick County Parks and Rec.

Ongoing Programs


Our ongoing recreation programs include: Leland’s Little Learners, Garden Club, Scrapbooking, Line Dancing, Hooks and Needles, Expressive Art and Leland Hometown Opry (Sam Miller Jam). For more information on these programs, please click here.

Other Community Programs and Events:


Lake Fest
* What: Bring the kids, bring the dog and come out to celebrate the history, animals, plants and water quality of Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake. There will be a number of booths and demonstrations by local nature groups. We will also have Face Painting, Casting Clinics, Fish identification, Greenfield Lake History Presentations, Enviroscape Presentations, Boat Displays, Educational Displays, Games, Live Animals like alligators, snakes, and turtles, Water Quality Testing Presentations and much more!  
* Where: Greenfield Lake Park Boathouse
* When: Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Leland Middle School Needs Volunteer Proctors for Testing
* What: Leland Middle School is in dire need of test proctors for End of Grade testing. If you have a morning or two available, please volunteer.
* Where: Leland Middle School, 927 Old Fayetteville Rd.
* When: May 8-10; 15-17
