Leland to Offer Adult Literacy Class

The Town of Leland, in partnership with the Brunswick County Literacy Council, seeks to offer an Adult Literacy Class beginning in early 2014. The purpose of the class is to assist and encourage adults of all ages to reach their desired reading and writing levels. Classes will be customized to the learners’ interests, long-term goals and short-term objectives. Participants will gain the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to see themselves as capable readers and writers. Information sessions will be held Monday, January 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Thursday, January 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Leland Classroom Annex (102 Town Hall Dr.). Members of the community are encouraged to spread the word about this exciting program to those who struggle with reading and writing. For more information, contact Amy Ryan at (910) 332-4823.
