Spring is right around the corner and our events are in full swing!!! We have plenty of programs including fitness classes, children’s programs and more. Bark in the Park

Dog Days will be here March 8. Are you and your four-legged friend excited?!? This event will feature a free rabies clinic by Capeside Animal Hospital and Furever Friends Animal Rescue, contests and more. If you have a pet-centric business, don’t miss this great opportunity to meet hundreds of dog owners by signing up as a vendor. For more information, see below.

Sea Leland Returns
Ahoy mateys! Sea Leland returns March 22. Tickets will go fast for this water tour of Leland, so reserve your spot early. See below for more information.

Yoga Classes are Here
We now have two new Yoga Classes. We will be starting our second 6 weeks in the beginning of April. See below for more information.

Little Learners Taking Registrations
Leland’s Little Learners, our preschool reading program that is now on Wednesday mornings still has spots available. See below for more details.

Plant Giveaway to Come Early April
In an effort to help keep our community beautiful we will be giving away free plants to Leland residents. Mark your calendars for April 5. More information to follow this month.

Upcoming Programs and Events:

A Bark in the Park
* What: A Bark in the Park is an event centered on people and their dogs!  This event will include a free rabies clinic presented by Capeside Animal Hospital and Furever Friends Animal Rescue, contests (Best Trick at 11 a.m. and Owner Look-a-like at 12 p.m.) and prizes, demonstrations and more from pet businesses in Leland and surrounding areas.  Come out and enjoy a day in the park with your best friend!
* Where: Leland Municipal Park (102 Town Hall Dr.)
* When: March 8; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
* Fee: FREE!

Sea Leland
* What: This year we will again take to the water to explore Leland and northern Brunswick County by boat. We will shove off on the 46-foot Wilmington from the Wilmington Waterfront and enjoy light snacks as we learn about area waterways from naturalist Doug Springer, former Cape Fear River Keeper. The tour will last approximately two hours and will feature Eagles Island, the Brunswick River, area creeks and discussion of the area Rice Culture, Liberty Ships and other historical points. This will be a unique experience for both new and long-time residents alike.
* Where: Meet at 212 S. Water St. (Wilmington) along the Cape Fear Riverwalk between Orange Street and Ann Street. For a map click here.
* When: March 22. Arrive at the docks by 11:45 a.m. to load the boat for the Noon tour and 1:45 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. tour. Tours begin promptly at noon and 2 p.m. If you are not there on time, you will miss the boat.
* Fee: Enjoy a two-hour tour and snacks for only $15 per person. Please call 910-338-3134 or visit http://www.wilmingtonwatertours.net to make your reservations. Must be a Leland resident. Space is extremely limited and will sell out. *Tickets go on sale March 3*

Leland’s Little Learners
* What: This free program for children ages 3-5 seeks to stimulate the minds of Leland's children through story time, arts and crafts and time outside on the playground! During the program, parents or guardians must remain with their children. Space is limited, so sign up early.
* Where: Leland Classroom Annex (102 Town Hall Dr.)
* When: Wednesday Mornings at 9:30 a.m.
* Fee: FREE!

All Levels Yoga
* What: Come and discover fun and joy in your body while giving it the gift of health and relaxation. Join certified yoga instructor Jessica Burkett in an all levels yoga class. This is a Hatha/Vinyasa led yoga class.
* Where: Leland Classroom Annex
* When: Tuesday Nights from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
* Fee: $72/6 weeks (That's only $12 a class!) Space is limited so call early to reserve your spot.

Gentle Yoga
* What: Join certified yoga instructor Jessica Burkett in helping you find more freedom and openness in your body so you can move through life with ease and strength at any age. This is a Hatha/Vinyasa led yoga class.
* Where: Leland Classroom Annex
* When: Wednesday Mornings from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
* Fee: $72/6 weeks (That's only $12 a class!)  Space is limited so call early to reserve your spot.

Total Body Conditioning I
* What: Rev up your metabolism with a challenging full-body workout combining cardio and strength training exercises using body weight, hand weights and elastic bands. There will be a big emphasis on core, balance and flexibility. This class is designed with low impact moves perfect for the beginner or novice or those needing modifications. Please bring water, an exercise mat, and a towel (‘cause you’re gonna sweat!).
* Where: Leland Municipal Park and Recreation Building (102 Town Hall Dr.)
* When: Monday and Wednesday Nights; 5:30 p.m. – 6:20 p.m. (New 8 weeks starts April 7)
* Fee: $95 for 8 weeks. That’s under $6 a class! Call (910) 332-4823 for more information or to register.

Total Body Conditioning II
* What: This bootcamp style class in the park will challenge and test your fitness level. Cardio bursts, athletic drills, and strength training exercises will test your athletic prowess and help you achieve your fitness goals which you will be setting at the beginning of the session and tracking throughout. Please bring a can-do attitude, water, an exercise mat, and a towel.
* Where: Leland Municipal Park and Recreation Building (102 Town Hall Dr.)
* When: Monday and Wednesday Nights; 6:30 p.m. – 7:20 p.m. (New 8 weeks starts April 7)
* Fee: $95 for 8 weeks. That’s under $6 a class! Call (910) 332-4823 for more information or to register.
