Time: 3:00pm, October 15, 2007

Effective at 1:00 p.m. today North Carolina Forestry Division issued a State Wide Burning Ban until further notice.  In conjunction with the Burning Ban issued by the North Carolina Forestry Division, Brunswick County Fire Marshal Scott Garner has issued a Local Burning Ban to include the 100 feet surrounding structures which is outside the enforcement area of Forestry.  Although this ban does not apply to charcoal or propane grilling, citizens are urged to be extremely cautious with any type of outdoor fire.  Citizens are also advised to be cautious when smoking outdoors, and to dispose of cigarettes in the proper manner.
