Burning Ban in Effect

From the Brunswick County Fire Marshal:

Effective at 12:00pm today the North Carolina Forestry Division has issued a Statewide Burning Ban until further notice.  In concurrence with the statewide burning ban, Brunswick County Fire Marshal Scott Garner is issuing a Local Burning Ban.  Although this ban does not apply to recreational fires such as charcoal or propane grilling, citizens are urged to be extremely cautious with any type of outdoor fire.  Citizens are also advised to be cautious when smoking outdoors, and to dispose of cigarettes in the proper manner.
