Town of Leland Hosts Fourth Annual Founders’ Day Celebration on September 10 WWQQ’s “Stunt Boy” to serve as Master of Ceremonies August 23, 2005 LELAND – The Town of Leland will hold its fourth annual Founders’ Day Celebration on Saturday, September 10th. Disc jockey Brian Joyce, more commonly known as WWQQ’s “Stunt Boy,” will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The event begins at 10:00 am and will be held on the grounds behind the Leland Town Hall. One of the day’s highlights will be the presence of one of Leland’s favorite sons. Stephen Mintz, a former pitcher in the Anaheim Angels organization and a 1987 graduate of North Brunswick High School, will be on hand to sign autographs. Founders’ Day 2005 will also include a free BBQ dinner and performances by several musical groups. “Our Founders’ Day celebration is an event for the whole family,” says Town Manager David Hewett. “We invite everyone in the Cape Fear region to pay us a visit, enjoy some southern hospitality and see for themselves why Leland is a great place to live and raise a family.” Other Founders’ Day activities include performances by the North Brunswick High School (NBHS) Band, the NBHS JROTC Drill Team, the Leland Middle School (LMS) Band and the LMS Chorus. Arts & crafts vendors will be a new feature at this year’s Founders’ Day.
