Brunswick County COVID-19 Update

Brunswick County has confirmed 6 additional positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 22 cases countywide. There have been 352 negative test results and 239 test results are pending. 

Other key points from the County's afternoon update:

  • As of April 1, there are 22 positive cases of COVID-19, 239 pending test results, and 352 confirmed negative test results in Brunswick County, totaling 613 tests administered so far.

  • Governor Cooper’s Executive Order No. 121 is now in effect: Stay at home unless you are visiting an essential service or operation (like visiting the grocery store, pharmacy, medical office, or work), exercising outdoors or helping a family member. The order bans gatherings of more than 10 people and directs everyone to physically stay at least six feet apart from others.

  • The CDC urges residents of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to refrain from non-essential domestic travel for 14 days effective immediately. Travelers returning after domestic travel from areas with widespread community transmission, cruise ships, riverboats, or by air travel should also self-quarantine at home for 14 days after returning.

  • Brunswick County requires individuals to contact county departments via phone or email first and to schedule appointments for in-person visits at the Brunswick County Government Center, if necessary

  • The CDC now recommends that people with mild COVID-19 symptoms stay home and call their doctor for medical advice.
