The Town of Leland Police Department is a Community Problem Solving Police agency. We strive to work with citizens to make this a safe place to live, work and play. We form partnerships with communities to improve the quality of life for all citizens and work collaboratively to prevent crime. We value the public’s trust in our agency as we work to exhibit sound judgment and open communication.
These are the services we offer to the citizens of Leland:
Are You Okay is a courtesy phone call program for elderly residents living alone. Please visit the Leland Police Department to enroll in this program.
Crime Prevention officers aim to protect citizens of Leland from victimization by anticipating, recognizing and assessing the crime risk opportunity and initiating appropriate action to eliminate or reduce the opportunity for crime to occur.
Fingerprints are rolled for free at the Police Department on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. We do not provide electronic fingerprinting at this time, but anyone interested can call the Brunswick County Detention Center at 910-253-2760.
Medicine Drop-Off is done in the Police Department lobby Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Only prescription pills are collected at this dropoff, not needles, liquids, vitamins or over-the-counter medicines. All pills collected are turned in to the State Bureau of Investigations to be destroyed.
While You're Away is a program to check residents' homes while they are on vacation for 3 or more consecutive days, up to 30 days maximum. Please complete the online form to sign up.
Call 9-1-1 for emergencies or to report an incident. The 911 system dispatches the proper authorities for each incident.
