The beautiful and ancient section of the Black River where the Three Sisters Swamp lies is home to 2,000 year old bald cypress along with flora and fauna unique to this area. This peaceful but challenging 10-to-12-mile paddle is on the must-do list for many experienced kayakers!
This trip is 10 to 12 miles and will take between 6 and 7 hours. It is not for beginners and is instead an intermediate level trip. There will be several stops to stretch, snack, and socialize. Food and water will not be provided; please plan to bring your own and pack out your trash.
The full program fee ($120) includes the use of a kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device (PFD), which must be worn at all times on the water. Tandem kayaks can be provided for those who would like to paddle together and can be requested during registration; both paddlers in the tandem must be registered participants.
For this trip, a reduced program fee ($75) is charged for those participants who wish to use their own kayak, paddle, and PFD (USCG approved). These participants are given an opportunity to select this option during registration, but are responsible for transporting their own equipment and still must wear their PFDs at all times.
