Leaving a Green Legacy Tree Planting Ceremony for Sabrena Reinhardt, 2020 Clerk of the Year

Join the Town of Leland for the Leaving a Green Legacy Tree Planting Ceremony to celebrate Town Clerk Sabrena Reinhardt, who was named 2020 Clerk of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks (NCAMC).

The ceremony will be held on Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m. The dedication will take place in the parking lot outside Town Hall, located at 102 Town Hall Drive.

The annual Clerk of the Year award honors a municipal clerk who has demonstrated extraordinary individual job performance, commitment to professional development and to community involvement, positive on-the-job attitude, and who has brought innovative ideas to their Town.

“Sabrena’s welcoming, can-do spirit thrives in the kind of culture the Town has cultivated, one that focuses on engagement, respect, service to others, and maintaining a supportive work environment, among other principles,” said Assistant Town Manager Missy Rhodes, who nominated Reinhardt for the award. “Her dedication to her profession is evident in her continued pursuit of education, certification, and involvement with her peers throughout North Carolina.”

Reinhardt has served as Leland’s Town Clerk for nine years. During that time, she earned a Certified Municipal Clerk designation and is one of approximately 70 out of 552 municipalities in North Carolina to have achieved a Master Certified Clerk designation.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must be an active member of the NCAMC for at least four years and bring innovative ideas to the association. Reinhardt has been involved with the organization for more than six years, volunteering to serve on a number of committees, including the education committee, in which she has helped share information on municipal practices and grow membership.

“Within any municipality of any size, the clerk plays a vital role in daily operations and ensuring long-term success,” Mayor Brenda Bozeman said. “My fellow Councilmembers and I, as well as Town staff, already knew that Sabrena was an exceptional clerk. I am thrilled, though not at all surprised, that she received statewide recognition. She continues to be a stellar representative of both her field and the Town of Leland.”

The Leaving a Green Legacy Tree Planting Ceremony will include statements by Mayor Brenda Bozeman, Reinhardt, and NCAMC President and Oak Island Town Clerk Lisa Stites.
