Leland in Lights, Holiday Market to Highlight Leland’s Christmas Celebration
The Town of Leland is preparing for an all-day holiday extravaganza, set for Saturday, Dec. 7, that will begin with an artisan craft market and culminate in Santa’s arrival, the annual Tree Lighting and Leland in Lights, a new outdoor lighting display.
The day kicks off at 10 a.m. with the annual Holiday Art Market at Leland Cultural Arts Center, 1212 Magnolia Village Way. More than 40 vendors will participate in this year’s juried market, which will feature a variety of original art and handmade wares that will make perfect Christmas and holiday gifts. The market will continue until 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Then, at 6 p.m., the Christmas festivities will shift to Founders Park (formerly Municipal Park), 113 Town Hall Dr., where Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their grand entrance via a promenade down Town Hall Drive. Once he arrives, Santa will oversee the Tree Lighting and the start of Leland in Lights - a new brilliant display of lights throughout the park, including an illuminated arbor, lighted cutouts perfect for family photos, and motion-sensor displays that “sing” and “dance” along to Christmas music.
Throughout the evening, Santa will visit with children and their families in his Town Hall workshop, where loved ones will be able to take photos and enjoy the festive sounds of the North Brunswick High School Chorus as they sing traditional carols.
All activities are free, including miniature train rides throughout the park and more!
