As mayor of Leland, I want to express to all Leland residents my heartfelt thoughts and prayers during this significant weather event. We have never experienced a hurricane of this projected magnitude, as a Town, in the recent decade. Please take every precaution to stay safe. On Tuesday evening, Brunswick County issued a mandatory evacuation for all unincorporated parts of the County. I strongly suggest all Leland residents and visitors evacuate, if possible, consistent with Brunswick County's mandatory evacuation. This is particularly important for those who may have health conditions, live in areas that are subject to flooding, or reside in housing that may not be able to survive the storm. I want all of you to come through this storm safe and ready to enjoy a healthy future.
