Saddle Up Little Cowboys and Cowgirls, It’s a Bike Rodeo in Leland

A Bike Rodeo and Safety Event will be held for children of all ages on Saturday, May 5, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Leland Town Hall parking lot, located at 102 Town Hall Drive.

This free family event includes a rodeo course with stops including hand signal instructions, a bicycle safety course, bike fitting and registration, and a helmet check.  Children should bring their bikes to register and have fun developing skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.

Helmets are required to participate in the rodeo.  The Town of Leland received bicycle helmets from North Carolina Department of Transportation as part of a grant to distribute to children in need at this event, on a first come first served basis.

Tasty Tee’s Snack Shack food truck will be on site for re-fueling, and the free Movie in the Park “Cars” will start at dusk in Leland Municipal Park, to complete a day of free-wheeling fun.

This Bike Rodeo and Safety Event is made possible by the combined efforts of the Town of Leland, Leland Parks and Recreation, Leland Police, Leland Fire/Rescue, NCDOT, Cape Fear Cyclists and Safe Kids Cape Fear.
