Town of Leland Declares State Of Emergency

PROCLAMATION DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY

Section 1. Pursuant to Chapter 22 “Civil Emergencies” of the Town of Leland Code of Ordinances, and Chapter 166A of the General Statutes, and in light of the Brunswick County declaration of a State of Emergency, I proclaim the existence of a State of Emergency in the Town of Leland, effective 6:00 AM Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Section 2. I hereby order all Town law enforcement officers and employees and all other emergency management personnel subject to my control to cooperate in the enforcement and implementation of the provisions of the Town Emergency Ordinances which are set forth below.

Section 3.  Evacuation: I issue a voluntary evacuation for residents who live in low-lying or flood-prone areas, sub-standard or storm-damaged homes.

Section 4. Leland Town Hall offices and the Leland Cultural Arts Center will be closed on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Section 5. Proclaimed this the 10th day of October 2018, at 12:00 PM.
