UPDATE: State of Emergency Lifted for Leland

UPDATE: Mayor Brenda Bozeman lifted the state of emergency effective 5 PM on Tuesday, Aug. 4

2 PM, Aug. 3---As southeast North Carolina braces for potential impacts from Isaias, Leland Mayor Brenda Bozeman has declared a Town-wide state of emergency effective at 3 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 3).

Although the forecast could change, the current projected path for Isaias shows it hitting along the southeastern coastline as a strong tropical storm or Category 1 hurricane tonight into early Tuesday morning.

As part of the declaration, a voluntary evacuation has been issued. Residents can determine their flood risk through the Town’s interactive flood zone map.

Storm updates will be posted as they are available on this website, as well as the Town's Facebook, Twitter (@Townofleland) and NextDoor pages.
