MARCH 2018 NEWS & EVENTS
The Town of Leland Fire/Rescue Paramedics Are Not Only Heroes, They're JEMS!

Battalion Chief Jason Fuller, Firefighter/Paramedic Amy Burton, Firefighter/Paramedic Brian MacNamara, and Paramedic Joseph Crowder recently competed in the 2018 JEMS International Paramedic Competition in Charlotte, NC, where 27 teams went head-to-head using true to life emergency scenarios that tested their skills and abilities as paramedics. I am proud to report that your Leland team came in second in this international competition!  Please join me in congratulating them on a job well done.

March is Youth Art Month and the Leland Cultural Arts Center is joining in with youth artwork featured in the gallery March 3-30.  Youth Arts Day on March 24 will feature an awards ceremony for top student art in Brunswick County, a special performance by Down to Earth Aerials, and a concert by pop artist Caroline Dare.  Learn more about this celebration of young artists at www.townofleland.com/lcac

The weather is warming up and our Parks and Recreation department has some great events for March!  Please join us for Bark in the Park on March 10, our 80's rock themed Night Hunt (for adults) on March 29, and our Easter Egg Hunt on March 31 for the children.  Spring is on the way here in Leland, so let’s get outside and have some fun!
