2018 has been a year that will live in all of our memories as a time of great struggles, but also great triumphs.
Hurricane Florence brought us together as a community, made us stronger, and as we continue to support those who are recovering and rebuilding, we are hopeful for the future growth of Leland.
Before the storm, we welcomed businesses to the area, celebrated together at Town events such as Bark in the Park, Egg Hunts for children young and old, National Night Out, Founders’ Day and concerts at the Leland Cultural Arts Center and in the park. You showed how giving you are as a community by supporting Pinwheels for Prevention of Child Abuse.
After the storm, our hearts were warmed – even in the rain – with the spirit of the season at the NC Christmas Festival & Parade. The lights in Leland Municipal Park are up all month long, so make sure you visit and snap a photo under the archway or among the lighted trees. We’re so proud of our citizens for showing overwhelming generosity at the recent Pack the Patrol Car/Fill the Fire Truck event, which raised over 3,000 lbs. of food and over $4000 in monetary donations for Brunswick Family Assistance, who work to directly help neighbors in Leland and throughout the county who need it most this time of year. Thank you Leland!
On behalf of Leland Town Council and Town of Leland staff, we would all like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas, joyful holiday season, and very Happy New Year!
- Mayor Brenda Bozeman -
