Leland to Host Town Hall-Style Meetings
A meeting to hear residents' concerns and questions regarding roadside litter, recycling, yard debris, and other issues is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, in Town Hall.
This informal public meeting will allow for dialogue between citizens, Council members and staff on those issues. Council members and staff plan to host these town hall-style meetings once per quarter, with a different focus at each meeting.
Council Approves Sturgeon Creek Park Plan During its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 20, Leland Town Council approved a master plan for Sturgeon Creek Park. Situated along a tributary of the Brunswick River, the new park will allow access to natural areas and serve as a welcoming attraction in the center of town.
The master plan approved by council will help ensure that vision is carried out by guiding the development of Sturgeon Creek Park through research, site analysis, and input from residents, Navassa officials, staff, and other stakeholders.
Under the newly adopted plan, proposed features of the park would include the following:

Our fun and educational Birding series with Jill Peleuses is expanding! First-time birders can learn about birds in our area and how to use birding equipment in Birding in Brunswick 101 on Feb. 27, which will include both an indoor lecture and an outdoor component.
More experienced birders can choose from a walk in one of our Leland parks to get your feet wet with Birding in Brunswick 102 or a field site visit with Birding in Brunswick 103, taking a look at birds in a truly wild setting.

Town Hall Meetings
We invite residents to attend any or all of our public Council and committee meetings.
The Town is seeking citizen volunteers to serve on its Board of Adjustment. The board convenes on an as-needed basis to hear appeals of staff decisions regarding the interpretation of land use regulations, among other items.
The board has 5 members and 2 alternates, and all terms will end June 30, 2023. Members must reside in the Town of Leland.

One of Leland's newest communities recently made international news for its "smart" and eco-friendly feature - electric vehicle charging stations.
