Who’s ready to have an amazing 2019? I know we are here at Leland Town Hall. If the first couple of weeks are any indication, we are all in for a great year. Projects are under way, businesses are opening, and the community events organized by the Town of Leland staff promise to be bigger and better in 2019, which happens to be our 30th birthday!
I think we can all agree that Leland is a fun place. We have become home to world-class pickleball and the trending sport of disc golf. You’ll see some outstanding movies and concerts scheduled in the park and at the Leland Cultural Arts Center.
Did you know there is an art gallery on the 2nd floor of Town Hall? Join us for a reception for photographer Carlos Flores before the Regular Council Meeting this evening and view his work hung throughout this unique gallery space.
If you see some new faces in the Leland Police Department or receive a phone call from a Leland Police Volunteer, don’t worry – they are the newest part of our Leland Police Volunteer Program. Volunteers have passed a thorough background check and will help our regular police staff with administrative functions. They might call you, but they will not ask for your personal information, such as birth date or social security number. They are here to help all of us, and we thank them for donating their time.
Town Hall offices and the Leland Cultural Arts Center will be closed on Monday, January 21 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. remembrance, we encourage everyone to take some time to reflect on Dr. King’s message of hope as we embark on a new year.
