Christmas In Leland Will Be Bigger and
Better Than Ever This Year!
Can you believe it’s almost time for Christmas? We’ve been through so much this year, it seems fitting to bring some holiday joy to Leland citizens and guests this year.  We have a celebration like no other planned for you, and can’t wait to see you all there for the first combined NC Christmas Festival & Parade, which will include the Leland Tree Lighting, visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, Christmas Around the World, and the Holiday Art Market at the Leland Cultural Arts Center.  December 1, 2018 will be a day full of Christmas magic, so please mark your calendars, read more here, and join us!

Of course, we have some important holidays in November.  We would like to extend our gratitude to all the Veterans in and around Leland who served our country and will honor them this Veteran’s Day.  Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, and we encourage you to gather with those you hold dear and give thanks for all that we have.  Although we have just experienced a time of great devastation, I am thankful for this incredible community who came together throughout Hurricane Florence, and continues to lend helping hands to those who need it most.  To see a video that tells the story of Leland’s response to Hurricane Florence from the perspective of the first responders and Missouri Task Force 1, please visit this page.

We are continuing to post updates regarding recovery resources on our website, Facebook page and on Nextdoor, so if you need assistance, please visit us online, or call Town Hall at 910.371.0148.  We are here to help you and support you in any way that we can.

On behalf of Leland Town Council and the Town of Leland staff, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

Q: Do I need a permit to install smoke/fire detectors or sprinklers?
A: If you are putting smoke/fire detectors in your home, you do not need a permit unless you are changing the home's circuitry. If you are putting sprinklers in your home, you will need a plumbing permit. The contractor/company you hire to install should obtain that permit as part of their contract. All installations, whether smoke/fire detectors or sprinklers in a commercial/business facility of any type need to be permitted. For more information on smoke/fire detectors or sprinkler systems, please call the Leland Fire Department at 910-371-2727.

Presented by Unity Group of North Brunswick and the Town of Leland

This event is a new version of the NC Christmas Parade and the Leland Tree Lighting, with some changes and additions we think you're going to love! The parade will take place at night, and will feature lighted vehicles that will lead Santa and Mrs. Claus to Town Hall, where they will light the Leland tree and visit with all the little boys and girls in Santa's Workshop.  The Christmas Festival will take place in Leland Municipal Park before, during and after the parade, and will bring us around the globe with Christmas Around The World and other holiday vendors. The fun starts at 4:00 and continues throughout the evening.  Please visit the website below for details, we can't wait to see you there!
