The Town of Leland hosts several fun and exciting events throughout the year in Town parks and facilities including the Leland Cultural Arts Center. Volunteers are used in many capacities including setup, parking, greeters, hands-on activities, and more.
The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department offers programs for all ages throughout the year. Volunteers may assist with regularly scheduled or special one-time workshops for youth through adults in a variety of program areas.
Help keep Leland beautiful! Volunteers are needed for scheduled cleanups of Leland’s parks and waterways. Learn more about stormwater outreach and events.

Bluegrass, Bowls & Baskets | Fri., Oct. 20 | Local bluegrass combo Masonboro Sound will be jamming on stage while local artists will be selling handmade bowls and baskets. Our Leland Fire and Police departments will be facing off in a head-to-head chili battle where YOU get to vote on the winner by bringing canned goods/non-perishable food items! |

Leland's annual Halloween event is a real monster mash! Local businesses and organizations pass out candy from decorated vehicles. Volunteers will be needed for event set-up and line management. The Town of Leland relies heavily on community-minded citizens to get involved with their local government and serve on one of the Town’s Advisory Boards. Learn more about the Town's Boards and Committees and how you can get involved.
Leland Fire/Rescue will begin its Volunteer Sponsorship Program in July 2022. We will serve as the sponsoring department for individuals desiring to go through the Fire Academy at Cape Fear Community College. Learn more about the Volunteer Sponsorship Program.
You can also volunteer as part of Leland Fire/Rescue's Community Risk Reduction and Education Division (C.R.R.E.D.). Learn more about C.R.R.E.D. and sign up to volunteer.
We have volunteers who assist with the Are You Okay program and other community resource programs, as well as with former police investigators working our cold cases. We also have interns to assist with the updating and management of new record-keeping systems and protocols within our department.
