Click on Current Job Openings in the Human Resources section of the Town of Leland website. You can search all current open positions available with the Town, including law enforcement positions.

If you are interested in an open position and meet the required qualifications, click on the position listed on the Current Job Openings page and hit the Apply button to submit an application.

Yes. You may apply for each advertised position for which you have an interest and meet the required qualifications.

Yes. Your online application will remain active for six months.

Yes. You will be notified via the email address supplied when applying for a position. It is not necessary to call Human Resources to follow up on the status of your application.

Applications that are received are reviewed by Human Resources. The candidates who best meet the qualifications of the position are routed to the hiring manager. The hiring manager reviews the applications and selects which candidates to schedule for an interview.

If you are selected, Human Resources  will be in direct contact with you to schedule an interview.

Yes. Part of the terms and conditions of employment is satisfactory results of a pre-employment drug screen. The pre-employment drug screen is required after a conditional offer of employment has been extended to the candidate and prior to the candidate's first day of work.

Yes. To meet the minimum requirements for a sworn law enforcement position, you must have successfully completed BLET. However, we are always glad to arrange informational meetings for BLET students. Please contact Human Resources if you are interested and a BLET student.

The F-3 can be uploaded during the online application process. To obtain an F-3 form, please visit the NC Department of Justice website.
