The Support Services Division is primarily responsible for the inner workings of the Police Department. It oversees Records Management, Property & Evidence, and Animal Services. Support Services is currently comprised of a lieutenant, a sergeant, two civilian records technicians, a civilian animal services officer, and a civilian evidence technician. Officers and civilian staff in the Support Services Division also maintain and manage all internal and external officer training, NC Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) needs, and the majority of community engagement events that the department participates in across the Town. The Cadet Program, student internships through UNCW and surrounding institutions, as well as other community partnerships are also overseen by Support Services.
