Mind the gap, Leland. 🇬🇧🎶 The British Invaders are making their way across the pond and headed straight for the Founders Park amphitheater on Thursday, Aug. 27, for our next Live in Leland concert! Get ready for an evening of hits from some of the biggest names in British music, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, and more. The show starts at 6 p.m., admission is FREE, and we'll have food trucks, yard games, the splash pad, playground, and a beer garden featuring Leland Brewing Company and Brunswick Beer and Cider for guests 21 and older. Grab your lawn chair or picnic blanket and come spend Thursday evening with us. Keep calm and carry on at Founders Park. 🇬🇧😎

A little splash pad know-before-you-go never hurts. We’ve loved seeing how popular the Founders Park splash pad has been this summer, and with all that splashing have come a few questions about how it works and what is (and isn’t) allowed. Can you bring a chair into the splash pad area? What happens when there’s thunder or lightning? Is the water safe to drink? And yes, we’re going to go ahead and answer that last one here: please don’t drink the splash pad water. 😅 We’ve rounded up answers to some of the most common questions, along with a few reminders to help everyone enjoy the splash pad safely through the rest of the season. We’re moving this week’s Live in Leland performance indoors to the Leland Cultural Arts Center (1212 Magnolia Village Way), so you can enjoy the show without worrying about what the weather decides to do. Join us Friday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. for Aesop’s Fables, presented by the Brunswick Arts Council. Admission is FREE, so come spend your Friday evening with us and see a few familiar fables brought to life!

School buses are about to become a familiar sight on our local roadways again. 🚍🎒 Traditional schools are back in session Monday, Aug. 24, which means now is a pretty good time to brush up on North Carolina’s school bus stop law. We’ve put together a little refresher on when drivers are required to stop for a school bus and when they can keep moving. 👀 Take a look, know when to stop, and give buses and students plenty of space as everyone settles back into the school-year routine. Let’s help get our students to school and back home safely, Leland. 💙

Founders Park is a little more electric. 🔌 ⚡ If you drive an EV, you can now charge up for free while you’re enjoying the park, visiting the library, or stopping by the Brunswick Center at Leland. The Town recently installed two dual-port Level 2 EV charging stations at Founders Park with support from a $10,000 reimbursement grant through the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality. The chargers are available during regular park hours, so plug in and let your car grab a little juice while you’re out and about! Sometimes being in the right place at the right time means stepping up when it matters most. 💙 We’re proud to recognize two H2GO employees — Brayden Fritz and Jon Kenney — who did exactly that on July 8. After coming upon an overturned school bus traveling through the area, they were among the first people on scene and immediately jumped in to help. Their actions that day went well beyond the job they showed up to do, and we’re grateful they were there when their help was needed. Please join us in thanking these two H2GO employees for stepping up and helping others in a difficult moment. 👏
