Creek Week is a statewide initiative that raises awareness about local waterways and empowers residents to take action in their communities. This year, the Town will host Creek Week programs March 14-21, offering a variety of activities leading up to Lend a Hand in Leland. Participants who register for any activity will be entered into a raffle to win a rain barrel! Learn more and register below.

Register for Mindful Birding.

Saturday, March 14, 10-11 a.m.

Participants will learn the basics of identifying local and migrating birds in a calm, nature-focused setting. This program is open to participants ages 8 and up.

Attend the Habitat Fixer Uppers presentation.

Monday, March 16, 6-7 p.m.

Learn how North Carolina's freshwater wetland habitats provide food, shelter, and nurseries for native wildlife. This presentation is free and open to all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Join Cape Fear River Watch for Storm Drain Marking.

Wednesday, March 18, 4-5:30 p.m.

Volunteers will label storm drains, encouraging residents and visitors to keep them free of pollution. Participants must be at least 8 years old, and those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Wednesday, March 18, 5-6 p.m. 

Designed for children ages 8-12, this program explores the importance of wetlands at low tide. Participate in a nature scavenger hunt.
