Trash & Recycling Collection
GFL Environmental, Inc. (formerly Waste Industries) is a private company that provides residential trash and recycling collection on Fridays throughout the Leland area.
Trash is picked up every Friday.
The Town of Leland's recycling program will transition from twice-monthly collection to once per month for the 2020-21 fiscal year that begins on July 1.
Please note that the current recycling schedule will remain in place through the month of June.
Curbside recycling will be picked up on Fridays. View and download the GFL service route map to determine on which Friday of the month your pick-up will fall.
Service route map key:
M1 (highlighted in purple/burgundy) - 1st Friday collection
M2 (higlighed in red) - 2nd Friday collection
M3 (highlighted in yellow) - 3rd Friday collection
M4 (highlighted in blue) - 4th Friday collection
There will be no fifth-Friday collection for those months that apply:
- July 2020
- October 2020
- January 2021
- April 2021
- July 2021

Residents who need an additional bin can secure one directly through GFL at a cost of $6.75 per month, or $81 for one year. The total annual cost will be billed in advance.

Brunswick County Solid Waste & Recycling
Brunswick County Recycling programs accept a variety of items, including roof shingles, cooking oil, electronics and more.
