2025 Municipal Election Information

The 2025 municipal election is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Elections are managed by the Brunswick County Board of Elections in Bolivia, which is where all inquiries should be directed. 

Not all residents in Brunswick County are eligible to vote in municipal elections. Only those who reside within municipal boundaries will be eligible to receive a ballot. The last day to register to vote is Oct. 10. Learn more about municipal elections. Check the interactive map to see if an address falls within Town of Leland limits. 

In North Carolina, there are three ways to vote: absentee by mail, early voting, and voting on Election Day. 

Absentee by Mail 

The last day to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 21.  Ballots are due at the Board of Elections office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 4. Learn more about absentee voting. 

In-Person Early Voting 

Early voting runs from Thursday, Oct. 16 through Saturday, Nov. 1. Early voting this year is only taking place in the Cooperative Extension Training Room, located at 25 Referendum Drive, Building N, in Bolivia. Same-day registration is available during early voting but not on Election Day. View the early voting schedule. 

Election Day 

Voters who choose to vote on Election Day, Nov. 4, must go to their assigned polling place. The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Learn more about voting in person and find your polling place.
