Know Before You Go: Founders Park Splash Pad

With the new splash pad at Founders Park now open, the Town of Leland has put together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about hours, safety, weather closures, and rules. Please review the information below before your visit to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. 

When is the splash pad open? 

The splash pad is open from May 1 through October 6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Where is the splash pad located? 

The splash pad is located at Founders Park, 113 Town Hall Drive. 

Is the water safe to drink? 

The water is similar to swimming pool water. Please do not drink the water. The water is recirculated and treated with chemicals. 

Is there a lifeguard on duty? 

No. There is no lifeguard on duty at the splash pad. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. 

Will inclement weather impact the splash pad? 

The splash pad may close at any time due to inclement weather, lightning detection, operational concerns, or maintenance. Please leave the park in advance of any weather-related event. 

Are food or beverages allowed in the splash pad area? 

No. Food, beverages, gum, and glass containers are strictly prohibited in the splash pad area. 

Are lawn chairs allowed in the splash pad area? 

No. Lawn chairs, beach chairs, and other furniture are not allowed. 

Are soap, chalk, or dyes allowed in the splash pad? 

No. Soap, chalk, dyes, and other substances that may affect the splash pad water are prohibited. 

Are animals and pets allowed in the splash pad? 

No. Only official documented service dogs are permitted in the splash pad area.
