The Leland Fire Department will conduct live fire training Saturday, May 16, at 10241 Blackwell Road SE near the northern intersection of Blackwell Road and Chappell Loop Road. The training is expected to begin around 8 a.m. and end around 5 p.m.
Blackwell Road and Chappell Loop Road will remain open during the training, though drivers may experience minor delays. Drivers are advised to use caution, as smoke and fire apparatus will be present in the area throughout the exercise.
The training is part of the Leland Fire Department’s ongoing efforts to maintain emergency response readiness and provide safe, effective service to the community.
The Town’s permanent ban on open burning for land-clearing purposes remains in effect and is separate from live fire training conducted by the Fire Department. Learn more about the ordinance.
