The Town of Leland is excited to host a Tree Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way.
This free event is made possible in part by a grant awarded to the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees in partnership with Verizon and the Arbor Day Foundation, which fund community tree distributions.
Community members can take home two free trees per household, while supplies last. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of native species ranging from 3 to 7 feet tall. Available trees include Southern live oak, DuraHeat® river birch, Bracken’s Brown Beauty magnolia, Brandywine red maple, October Glory red maple, overcup oak, Autumn Brilliance serviceberry, and blackgum. Learn more about the planting and care requirements for each species.
Through partnerships with municipalities like the Town of Leland, the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees works to grow a healthier, more resilient tree canopy across the lower Cape Fear region.
