Town of Leland Lifts Burn Ban

Burn Ban Lifted

The Town of Leland burn ban will be lifted at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Town issued the burn ban on June 9 due to unfavorable weather conditions for open burning.

Fire officials urge residents to continue burning responsibly. Always check for restrictions before burning, monitor weather conditions, and never leave a debris fire unattended. Burn permits are available from authorized permitting agents or online through the NC Forest Service.

The permanent ban on open burning for land clearing purposes within the Town limits remains in effect and is separate from this temporary ban. Learn more about the ordinance.
