Environmental Review

With the award of the FY2023 Community Project Funding, Town Staff is working with the Engineer to conduct an Environmental Review for the relocation of overhead power and telecommunication lines in the Town’s Gateway District. The Environmental Review is an analysis of impacts of the project on the surrounding environment and will be reviewed by the State Historic Preservation Office, Fish & Wildlife, and other state environmental authorities.

The Town of Leland has selected Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. as the Engineering Firm to survey and design the relocation of overhead power and telecommunication lines in the Town’s Gateway District.

Request for Qualifications for Professional Engineering and Design Services

The Town of Leland, North Carolina invites qualified firms to submit a qualification proposal in accordance with North Carolina Statutes to provide professional engineering and design consulting services associated with the preliminary engineering, right of way acquisition, construction estimating, and preparation of the final design construction documents of the Gateway District Utility Resiliency project. The RFQ document provides complete information on the scope of services being sought, timeline, and submission requirements. The RFQ document can be found at https://www.townofleland.com/rfps-rfqs. The Town will receive written responses to this RFQ through Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

The Town was selected for FY2023 Community Project Funding through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the survey and design of the relocation of overhead power and telecommunication lines in the Town’s Gateway District.
