The Town of Leland invites the community to take part in Lend a Hand in Leland on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. This fall marks the largest event to date, featuring seven volunteer opportunities and three new partner organizations.
Lend a Hand in Leland is a community-wide day of service that fosters civic pride and connections by bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in meaningful volunteer efforts that address local needs and strengthen community well-being.
This October, volunteers can choose from the following projects:
- Stream Cleanup: Work with Cape Fear River Watch to clean a Leland-area watershed.
- Home Build: Assist Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity in building its first community in Leland, with tasks varying by the stage of construction.
- Trash Pickup: Join We Live Here to collect roadside litter in the Westgate District.
- Tree Planting: Help We Live Here plant trees to beautify and enhance the Westgate District.
- Landscaping: Work alongside AARP to beautify the Brunswick Center at Leland with fresh landscaping.
- Food Distribution: Support First Baptist Church of Leland during their drive-thru food bank.
- Campus Cleanup: Assist North Brunswick High School in their campus-wide clean-up.
Community members are invited to participate in any of these opportunities. Participants must register in advance. For more information on each project and to register, visit the Town website.
