
Councilmember Veronica Carter has been named First Vice President of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Black Elected Municipal Officials (NCBEMO). Carter was officially sworn in during NCBEMO’s annual Summer Conference.
“It is an honor to serve as First Vice President of NCBEMO and to work alongside fellow municipal leaders from across North Carolina,” Councilmember Veronica Carter said. “Together, we will continue to advocate for our communities, support public service, and promote positive change for the residents we serve.”
As the newly elected First Vice President, she joins Black elected municipal officials from across the state on the Board of Directors.
NCBEMO has taken the lead in supporting public service over the last 30 years to drive change for residents of North Carolina. The organization strives to achieve political and community transformation through training, education, collaboration, advocacy, and outreach programs that promote its mission.
NCBEMO is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization comprised of current Black elected officials and supporters across the state.
