The Town of Leland invites the community to Battle of the Bowls on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way. This free, family-friendly event will feature live bluegrass music from Wilmington-based band Massive Grass, a chili cookoff, and local vendors.
Leland’s finest will face off in the kitchen as the returning champions, the Leland Police Department, takes on Leland Fire/Rescue in the chili cookoff. Attendees can vote for their favorite chili with non-perishable canned goods or cash. Each item or $1 donation earns a ticket to vote. All donations support Manna Ministries.
While enjoying chili, get a jump on holiday shopping with vendors including Abounding in Hope Pottery, Lovin’ Stitchin’, SealZiti Soaps, Brandy Bell Design, Reds Threads, Poppy Rey Creations, and Cape Fear Bread Company. Guests are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing their favorite football jersey.
