The Town of Leland is proud to announce it has received a $1,000 Grassroots Grant from the Brunswick Arts Council to support its Art Around Town program. This marks the fourth time the Town has been awarded the Grassroots Grant from the Brunswick Arts Council, a Designated County Partner of the North Carolina Arts Council, which is a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
Art Around Town offers a variety of creative programs held at locations throughout Leland. All events are free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required.
Upcoming Art Around Town events:
On April 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Founders Park, located at 113 Town Hall Drive, join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll be guided step-by-step in creating a cartoon portrait of your favorite pet! All supplies will be provided; just bring a clear reference photo of your pet.
Participate in an hour-long evening Zumba class for all ages on April 28 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Westgate Nature Park, located at 1260 West Gate Drive.
Try your hand at wire wrapping to create a copper or silver wire bookmark on May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mimi and Papa’s Popcorn and Sweet Shop, located at 324 Village Road Northeast.
Learn about the importance of pollinators and create a bee hydration station to place in your own garden on June 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way.
