The Town of Leland will host a Women’s Health Forum on June 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way. The event will feature health screenings, educational resources, and panel discussions focused on women’s health and wellness.
Health screenings will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. and will include mammograms through a mobile mammography unit, as well as blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings.
Two panel discussions led by healthcare professionals will take place at 5 and 6 p.m. Each session will last approximately 50 minutes and include an opportunity for attendees to submit written questions related to the discussion topics. Participating organizations include Brunswick Medical Center, Novant Health, and Christian Recovery Center.
The first panel discussion, “Navigating Women’s Health Through Every Stage,” will address topics including maternity care, pre- and post-menopause, and mental health concerns associated with those life stages. The second panel, “Thriving Through the Years,” will focus on aging and wellness, stroke prevention and recovery, and cardiovascular health.
“Leland is one of the fastest-growing towns in North Carolina, and with that growth comes a responsibility to ensure residents know about local healthcare services and resources,” said Councilmember Leland Hyer. “This forum is an opportunity to connect our community with healthcare professionals, provide valuable information, and encourage conversations about women’s health. I hope events like this continue to expand in the future so we can highlight healthcare resources and services available to all residents.”
