Apply to be a part of the Leland Citizen Academy, a free program designed to help residents better understand the services, operations, and day-to-day work of their local government. Over six weeks, Town staff will lead six weekly sessions that give participants an inside look at how the Town of Leland operates and the services it provides to the community.
Participants will:
- Tour Town facilities
- Meet Town leaders, department heads, and staff
- Learn about budgeting, planning, public works, and public safety
- Gain insight into local decision-making processes
- Explore opportunities for community involvement and volunteerism
- Build connections with fellow residents and community leaders
