Art Around Town

Art Around Town is a family-friendly town-wide event where the public can participate in crafts, drawing, painting, and fitness activities. Each day will feature a different instructor! These activities are drop-in and FREE to the public. Click the 2026 dates below to find out more information.

All workshops are free to the public and all supplies are included. 

PET PORTRAITS IN THE PARK

What’s better than art in the park? Create a cartoon portrait of your favorite animal friend with Mark. Use drawing and colored pencils to bring your drawing to life. Be sure to bring a good photo of your pet to use as a reference.

This is an open program - you can come anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to join!

ZUMBA AT WESTGATE NATURE PARK

Zumba combines salsa, merengue, and cumbia rhythms into a fun, approachable dance fitness program for all ages. Bring the whole family to move and groove to Tracie’s energetic playlist at Westgate Nature Park from 6-7 p.m.! You’ll enjoy the benefits of being out in nature while learning some new dance moves along the way.

WIRE 101: MAKE YOUR OWN BOOKMARK

Join us for a night of wire wrapping at Mimi and Papa's! Use hammers and bench blocks to forge a beautiful copper or silver wire bookmark. Embellish your creation with semi-precious stone beads of all colors.

This is an open program - you can come anytime between 6-8 p.m.

POLLINATOR PARTY

Join us from 6 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the building blocks of our ecosystem – bees! Steven Stegman, President of the Brunswick County Beekeepers Association, will kick us off with a short presentation about how we can help our buzzy, fuzzy friends. Afterward, Claire will help each participant create and decorate a bee hydration station with clay to place in your own garden or greenspace.
