Town of Leland Streets Resurfacing 2021-2022

To resurface nine streets within the Town limits to include Olde Waterford Way, a portion of Woodwind Drive, Palm Ridge Drive, Old Village Circle, Royal Palm Way, a portion of Pine Harvest Drive, Bentgreen Drive, West Gate Drive, the intersection at New Pointe Boulevard, and the commercial section of Grandiflora Drive. The scope of the project includes milling, full depth patches as needed, and asphalt overlay of those nine streets.

Project is Closed

The Resurfacing Project has been closed out.  Town Staff will monitor the roads and address any warranty issues as they may present themselves.

All work on the Resurfacing project is now complete.  Residents and motorists will see new pavement, striping, and signs throughout. Town Staff is working to close out the project.

Town Street’s Crews will be striping on Woodwind East and installing the last of the signs the week of January 3, 2023.  Please use caution when driving in the area where crews are working.

Town Street’s Crews will be installing the remaining street signs and finishing striping on Woodwind East the week of December 19, 2022.  Crews will be replacing signs, installing new signs, and moving existing signs as needed. Please use caution when driving in the area.

Repair Work to Sinkhole along Pine Harvest Drive

Town of Leland will have a contractor out on Pine Harvest Drive repairing a sink hole that formed starting today Monday, December 5, 2022. Traffic will be diverted to one-lane as needed.  Residents should expect delays and use caution when driving in the area.

Striping Continues

Striping continues along all newly resurfaced roads to include Bentgreen Drive, roads throughout Waterford, West Gate Drive, and the commercial section of Grandiflora Drive.  Striping crews have pre-marked all locations that will have striping installed. Work will continue today, Friday, December 2 through early next week. Traffic will be diverted to one-lane around the paint truck as it moves down the road. Residents should expect delays and are reminded to not drive through wet paint.

Striping crews will be out working starting tomorrow, Thursday, December 1, 2022.  Crews will be starting on Bentgreen Drive in Magnolia Greens and working towards all roads in Waterford, then move over Grandiflora Drive, West Gate Drive and New Pointe Blvd.  Traffic will be diverted to one-lane around the paint truck as it moves down the road.  Residents should expect delays and are reminded to not drive through wet paint.

Paving crews will be out on West Gate Drive and New Pointe Blvd today, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, to finish paving the intersection.  Traffic will be diverted to one-lane and directed through the commercial section as needed. Residents should expect delays and use caution when driving in the area.

Construction Update

Construction crews are working on the new sidewalk along Pine Harvest Drive and will finish pouring concrete this week and then continue demo of the existing sidewalk.  Residents are reminded to use caution when walking on the sidewalks as the area still needs to be filled and grass put down.  Final paving along West Gate Drive and New Pointe Blvd is slated for the week of November 28th.  Striping of all roads is slated for the first two weeks of December.  The contractor will be installing striping on all roads that were resurfaced including the roads throughout Waterford and the commercial section near Harris Teeter.  The contractor will be putting back striping for all crosswalks and cart crossing in Magnolia Greens.  The Town will also be installing new street signs throughout the project limits.
