Trash & Recycling
Trash & Recycling Collection
Trash service is provided by Brunswick County, which contracts with GFL Environmental, Inc. for county-wide collection. Trash is picked up every Friday in Leland.
Please note: the Town of Leland's current contract with GFL for curbside recycling is set to expire June 30, 2021. In anticipation of this, the Town is working with GFL to prepare for a transition to fee-based curbside recycling, whereby individual users will be billed directly by GFL. The Town and GFL will provide more information to residents on this transition, including how to sign up to continue service. If you decide not to continue curbside service, you will still be able to recycle at a number of drop-off locations, which will be placed around town.
Curbside recycling will be picked up on Fridays on a monthly schedule. View the Recycling Route Map to determine your pick-up day.
A list of recyclable items can be found on the Brunswick County website.
Residents who need an additional bin can secure one directly through GFL at a cost of $6.75 per month, or $81 for one year. The total annual cost will be billed in advance.
To purchase an additional bin, or if you have any recycling questions, please call GFL at (910) 253-4177.
