The Town of Leland invites community members to attend the sixth annual Hurricane Expo on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way.
The Hurricane Expo provides residents with a valuable opportunity to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season with guidance from local, state, and federal experts. Attendees can connect with a variety of agencies, gather important storm preparedness information, pick up a copy of the Town of Leland’s official Hurricane Guide available in English and Spanish, and enter for a chance to win a rain barrel.
Participating Town departments include Fire, Police, Public Works, and Planning and Inspections, as well as Brunswick County Emergency Management, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Legal Aid of North Carolina, the Red Cross, the N.C. Cooperative Extension Agency, National Weather Service, the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Brunswick Family Assistance, WWAY, WARM, Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation, Trillium Health Resources, and H2GO.
