The Town of Leland is offering residents two opportunities to provide input on the future Loblolly Park Master Plan.
The future Loblolly Park, located off Long Pine Drive, spans just over 32 acres. In May, the Town received $10,000 from the North Carolina Amateur Sports Youth Sports Grant Fund to support the planning and design of a disc golf course at the park. The course will create new recreational opportunities for residents and visitors while supporting tournaments, community events, and partnerships with local organizations and businesses.
The master plan will build on the disc golf course design and provide additional guidance for the park’s overall layout and possible amenities, including trails, a playground, facilities, and other recreational offerings. It will also establish a framework for future development.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to share their feedback at the following upcoming public engagement opportunities at Town Hall, located at 102 Town Hall Drive:
- Oct. 28, 3-6 p.m.: Drop in for the Loblolly Park Master Plan Open House.
- Oct. 29, 7:30 p.m.: Attend a special meeting of the Town Council and Parks and Recreation Board and provide public comment on the Loblolly Park Master Plan.
These opportunities will give the community a chance to learn more about the plan, share ideas, and help shape the future of Loblolly Park.
North Carolina Amateur Sports awards Youth Sports Grants annually to local governments and nonprofit organizations across all 100 counties in the state. The Town of Leland is the only municipality in Brunswick County to receive funding for the 2025-2026 cycle.
