Project Updates
The Town is moving forward with the project and will soon be reviewing the first round design plan of the park. At this time, we will be getting more detailed into the specifics of site design, which includes space planning for park amenities.
Work has begun on the horizontal engineering and site surveying for Founders Park. After these items have been completed, we will move into the design phase of pre-construction planning.
Town Council approved the contract award to McGill Associates, P.A. for civil engineering services related to site development plan.
Two public input meetings will be held to gather input on the aesthetic look and feel of the park. McGill and Associates will provide representative visuals of the park amenity types (various examples of shapes, configurations, materials, and colors). This includes restroom structures, an amphitheater, playground, splash pad, pervious paver walkways and parking, Veterans Memorial garden area, and benches. The meetings will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 and Monday, December 16, 2019 at Leland Town Hall in the Cape Fear Room from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
