Town Council is joining in the celebration of the Leland Youth Baseball team, now also World Series Champions. Town Council honored the team at its meeting on Aug. 17, during which Mayor Brenda Bozeman presented each player with a Key to the Town.
The Leland Youth Baseball Majors team, made up of 11- and 12-year-olds, won the 2023 World Series for Dixie Youth Baseball in Louisiana on Aug. 8. This is the first time the Leland Youth Baseball team has won the World Series.
Members of the American Legion Post 68 also presented the team with American flags during the Town Council meeting to recognize their accomplishments.
