Mayor Bozeman Honored for 20 Years of Service

Brunswick County Board of Commissioners Honors Mayor Bozeman for 20 Years of Service

Mayor Brenda Bozeman is being honored for her 20th anniversary serving on Leland Town Council.

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted a proclamation honoring her at its meeting on Dec. 4. Congressman David Rouzer recognized her with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for her service and excellence in leadership, which was presented by a member of his office at the Town Council meeting on Dec. 14. Rouzer's office also presented the Mayor with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol on Election Day 2023.

Bozeman was first elected to serve as a member of Leland’s Town Council in Nov. 2003. She served as a Councilmember until Nov. 2011 when she was elected Mayor, a position which she is honored to still hold today.

"Enclosed is a flag I had flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of your numerous contributions to the Town of Leland and the many visitors and residents who know what a jewel of a community it is. I hope this will serve as a reminder of the appreciation so many have for you," Rouzer said in a letter to Bozeman. "One of the many aspects that I enjoy in my own work is the opportunity to meet and get to know so many who truly care about this great country and its future. You are certainly on that list."
